Todays Internet Protocols (IP) are often based on ideals and papers that were developed in the mid 80s last century. These protocols allow sending and receiving messages, distributing decentralized information on an IP network known as the Internet.
The simplicity of these exchange standards combined with the new capabilities lead to a growing usage of the Internet. The world population is about 6.5 billion people 11: Population Reference Bureau, 2005: "2004 World Population Data Sheet" http://www.prb.org (2005/07/11). Depending on several research institutes a claim that roughly 10% of the world's people have Internet access seems safe.
As the Internet is reaching new people day by day, many people became familiar with the economical and easy possibilities to use the Internet for marketing and advertising purposes. The number of people using the net, the number of countries that are connected to it and the different forms of government make it impossible to control and govern the usage.
The Internet protocol security advisories that came up during the last years were difficult to fix as this would break the standards. These issues combined with the anonymity advantage the impure usage of Internet services.
This project paper analyses the techniques of users that send unsolicited mail to show up the issues in today's Internet protocols.
